The last days of this age will be marked by a period of unparalleled trouble, global turmoil, and death. Never before has the world been visited with the fury, the wrath, and the judgment that will be poured out upon it during the great tribulation. The great tribulation is the hour that will come to test those who dwell on the earth. The saints will be purified, refined, and made perfect through many trials and great suffering. The wicked and lawless will be destroyed. For the righteous, the great tribulation will usher in a period of persecution such as has never been seen before. For the ungodly and the wicked, the great tribulation will be the time when the wrath of God Almighty is poured out upon them in fulfillment of all the prophets have spoken. The great tribulation will be a period of seven years, during which, hail and fire mingled with blood will be cast down upon the earth, and the sun will be given the power to sear men's bodies with intense heat. The waters will turn to blood and the rivers will be poisoned. All the green grass will be burned up and a third of the trees destroyed. A fourth of the earth will die by sword, plague, famine, and the beasts of the earth. In the brief span of seven years, the majority of the world's billions will die.
